Story time at the Nashville Zoo was a blast. The story was "Punk Farm", a cute little story about farm animals that play in a punk band at night when the farmer goes to sleep. During the story kids went up and pretended to be the farm animal with the instrument. Towards the end of the story all the kids received little instruments to play with the story. We had a little snack of hot chocolate and granola bars provided as well. I encourage everyone to get a season pass and take part on the great experience. You can also go to story time with a played admission to the zoo.

Child Safety Day
The first Child Safety Day for Music with Mommie was held last Saturday. The fire department and the police department came and gave speeches on how to keep you family safe during different events that could happen. All the information was extremely helpful. We send a huge THANK YOU out to all the came and represented their department.
The kids were aloud to climb all over the fire truck, which seemed to be a huge hit. Afterward, we had a cook out with both hamburgers and hot dogs. Everyone pitched in and made this an event not to be missed in the future. It was a great time!
A BIG THANK YOU goes out for all the great pictures that Denise Von Der Hofen took.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Last Saturday the three of us, Denise , Jessica, and Me (Danette) all went to join the fight and walk for "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer". It was a huge success and we missed everyone that could not participate. We walked the entire five miles with little to no problems. The morning started out a little on the cold side, but turned into a rather nice walk. The walk went through most of lower Nashville were most of the tourist hang out. It was great fun for all of us as we do not get to see that side of Nashville as much as we would like.
Unfortunately, there will be no pictures with the posting. I just did not think I could carry a camera and walk the five miles as well.
Thank You to everyone in helping pass our team goal of $300.00. We were able to collect $330.00.

Gathering Fruits/Veggies at the Market
The Nashville Farmers' Market

Jackson and Izabella had a blast together at the Nashville Farmers' Market. First the moms shopped for veggies and fruit at an incredible low price with a huge selection. Then it was a short trip to the car to drop off all of the yummy delights.
Next Jackson and Izabella enjoyed a stroll/run through Centennial Park. The park is wonderful and a grand space to get your little one to run off all that extra energy. We sure did have a blast!!
I recommend for everyone to take some time out and go enjoy the market and park. It was a great adventure for the morning. For more information please visit their web site:

Fun At The Tennessee Aquarium

We had a total of 7 moms and 9 kids. It was crazy at times but we all had a great time. We had lunch at Big River and the server had never had so many young kids at one table!!! We got to touch the fish and see all kinds of fresh and salt water creatures. There was also a butterfly room where we could be among lots of butterflies. We had a ball!

Summer Birthday Bash at Harvey Park
Happy Birthday to all the Summer Kids
Great time out at the park today. Not too hot, but definitely not cool either. All the kids loved playing on the park equipment. Running from one thing to another or just running after each other. Cupcakes and goldfish was on the menu. Katie especially enjoyed her cupcake. Moms enjoyed all of the great conversation.

Playdate at McDonalds
Hey Everyone
We all had a great lunch at McDonalds. There was chicken nuggets and fries for all the kiddies and burgers for the parents. After lunch all the kids had fun playing on the huge indoor play ground. One of the kind employees even handed out little bags of cookies to the kids.
It sure was fun. We sure do hope to see more at the next play date.

Chuck E Cheese Play Date
The play date at Chuck E Cheese went off with great excitement. All of the kids seemed to have a blast. The place was relatively empty which gave all of the kids lots of time on there favorite rides. Everyone feasted on pizza and soda. Sorry there are not a lot of pictures, my camera ran out of battery power.
I will be on vacation in California for the next two play dates:
Favorite Book and Sidewalk Chalk Playdate Sept. 7th at 10:00am
Dip ‘N Dots Sept. 12th at 3:00pm
If anyone would like to email me their pictures and a short story on what your view of the event was, I would love to pass it on in our blog.

Mom's Night Out
Hotsy Potsy Night Out
What a night out it was. Lots of good conversation and laughs throughout the entire night. Everyone had lots of fun getting to know other moms from all of the other Spring Hill classes. We snacked on a good variety of food from dips to sweets.
A big thank you for everyone that came to the night out. You all deserve a good pat on the back for everything you do. Mom's night out is just a small amount off time you can give to yourself.
Hope to see more at the next Mom's Night Out. It will be just as much fun if no more then this one.

Bethany Birthday Party
Bethany Turns 1

Bethany recently turned 1 and had her Birthday party at Harvey Park. It was a grand party for all of the little ones that attended. The morning started out a little on the rainy side, but the sun was good to come out for all to enjoy.
All of the kids had fun on the playground swings and slides. There was a great amount of yummy cupcakes, ice cream and juice. Bethany loved all of the gifts that everyone brought to celebrate her first year.

Zoo Day
Outing at the Nashville Zoo
With a quick lunch everyone was on to the next grand adventures of the elephants and giraffe. The Nashville Zoo in truly a great place. The animal habitats are amazing to see. Personally, I do believe that the people who run and work at this zoo love and respect the animals. If you have not been yet you must go and experience it for yourself and family. Maybe on the next music with mommie zoo day.
We hope to see everyone at our next outing, coming up very soon.
A week ago last Friday (July 13) a group of mommies and children gathered at the entrance of the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere for a day of fun with the animals. The weather was slightly on the humid side, but that was not to stop us from some fun and adventure.
Loaded with water and snacks we entered the zoo. First stop, the Meerkats exhibit. These little creatures were a lively bunch. All of the kids seem to enjoy watching all of the activity going on in their little habitat. Then on to the Toucans, who seemed to be rather upset at each other. They did keep the kids entranced with their constant fighting. We ventured on to the next incredible creatures the cougars, red pandas, leopards, zebras and ostriches. All were just as amazing to see as the next.
